Saltburn-by-the-Sea is a seaside town in North Yorkshire. It has a population of 5,958 and a current average sale price of £192,647. The town is situated 12 miles southeast of Hartlepool.

Sites of interest in the town include Saltburn Cliff Lift, which is the oldest operating water-balance cliff lift in the United Kingdom. It was constructed between 1883 and 1884. Saltburn Pier is the last remaining pier in Yorkshire, and has a total length of 208 metres. It opened in 1869 and is a Grade II* listed building. The Saltburn Miniature Railway is a gauge railway in the town and opened in 1947 as a tourist attraction. A range of events take place in Saltburn-by-the-Sea, including the Saltburn Custom Classic Car Show and the Saltburn Festival of Folk Music, Dance and Song.

The town has facilities for sports such as cricket, bowls and tennis. Surfing also takes place in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
